Come and see us at Southampton Boat Show from Friday 10 to Sunday 19 September, in Ocean Hall, Stand no. G044. Our experienced team will be on hand to show you our product range and discuss the most suitable options for your needs.

We will be displaying a number of generators from the Paguro range, inverter/chargers with SmartBoost from Studer, watermakers by Dessalator and air conditioning from Mermaid Marine Air and Climma.

Whether you are planning a long cruise, taking part in the ARC or just want to get more out of your weekends on the water, we look forward to welcoming you to our stand.

Our demo boat, based just 5 minutes down the road at Saxon Wharf, will be available (by appointment) if you would like to have a live demonstration of our equipment.

Advance Yacht Systems display new Paguro Generators at Tullet Prebon London Boat Show

29 November 2009 00:00:00 GMT

The increased use of electrical devices on boats - from air conditioning to electric barbeques, hairdryers to satellite TVs – means that generators are being put under increasing pressure to supply continuous power over longer periods, and cope with ‘spikes’ as systems start up or at times of exceptionally heavy demands on power.

Advance Yachts Systems is showing two new compact, lightweight but extremely powerful generators from Paguro on stand N32A at the Tullet Prebon London Boat Show.  Both offer the ultimate in generator technology to ensure quiet, reliable, and low fuel consumption operation.

The Paguro 5000 delivers 4kW (5kVA) of continuous 230V AC power.  It can peak to 48A to cope with spikes, and offers an auxiliary 12 V (8A) voltage to start a battery.

The Paguro 8000 Vario is said to be the most powerful marine variable speed permanent magnet inverter marine-generator currently available.  It supplies 8 kW continuous power, but the engine speed automatically increases or decreases in direct relation to the power required.  The Paguro 8000 Vario can supply 8kW of continuous rated power at 3000rpm, but if only a minimum of power is needed, it can drop to 1800 rpm with an output of 2kW.  The variable power feature also ensures reduced emissions and lower fuel consumption.

Both models of Paguro generator are exceptionally compact and quiet.  They are operated via an easy-to-use remote control panel with an hourmeter and unique proportional load meter.  There is an automatic shut down safety feature if low oil pressure or high temperature is detected.    Both emit just 52 dB(A) thanks to features such as the air intake through sound proof inlets situated at the base of the unit, the stainless steel exhaust manifold, dual anti-vibration soft shock absorber mounts and multi-layer GRP high density foam noise insulation capsule.  The outer case is hinged for easy access for servicing, even in tight spaces below decks.

With reduction in weight also important, the Paguro 5000 weighs just 83Kg, and the Paguro 8000 Vario only 110Kg.  These light weights and small footprint make both models ideal for boats and catamarans in the 35-55 feet (10 - 16 m) range.

Both models will be on sale at the London Boat Show. The technical staff at Advance Yacht Systems are happy to provide advice about the best generator for specific requirements, power usage and boat size at the show.
